Prolouge Dream
Isn’t it odd when you expect a day to be the day you’ve always pictured it to be, but somehow you just felt it was totally the opposite? Like you actually planned it out all in your head, then it turned into a make-it-up-as-you go. For me, it was like a never ending dream, seeing the same thing over and over again. I guess sleeping for four days straight does that to you. And I’m just like, fuck! I woke up! I’m still tired too, so what the hell have I woke up for? Hah, I’m a bit late there, I already know why. Something was bugging me in the back of my mind, something telling me that something is not right. The most important question swirling around in my head. Where. Is. Crysis. Last time I saw the shithead was when Bitch Minh trapped him in that bottle. I’d expect to see him pop out of nowhere, bitching and moaning on how much trouble I have caused like everyone else did. I’m pretty sure he escaped the Lost Spirit World in one piece, maybe two. Ugh, I’m getting tired again. One of these days I’ll end up never waking up at all. But as I drift off, there’s another question that has yet to be answered….what do I do now?
When I woke up, it was already dark out. Another day wasted, just great. The first thing in my mind, food, oh and I just know exactly what to eat, the delicious flavor of human flesh. I haven’t eaten a human in a while, and I already forgot the taste of it. I peer over my shoulder, seeing the city that has been terrorized all this time. This is like, the tenth time they rebuilt their city? I’m sure they won’t mind if one person went missing, so I headed off to the city. Well at least the city seems ok, for once, it doesn’t look like everyone died. Many streets are still closed, thus there are hardly any cars around. Not many shops are open either, and the only people who seem to be at work are the construction workers. I picked the most busiest spot, and waited quietly in an ally, waiting for some poor unsuspecting victim to walk by. Though…as I’m waiting for someone to walk by, I feel watched. I already checked the perimeter for anyone, and it’s all clear. Now I know it seems like I’m being paranoid, but seriously, if there was anything in splitting distance of me, I would of known it. Maybe if I ignore it, it’ll go away.
After three long minutes with darting eyes and constant looking behind, I heard a very loud and obnoxious crunching sound. Now if there still nothing back there, I’m going to go check myself into an asylum. I look back for the nine thousandth time, and clearly there was a tall figure crouching down ontop of some other figure. The figure shot it’s head up to me, then turned around and ran off. Oh I’m not letting any fucker that stole my dinner off easily! I quickly chased after him, jumping over the random trash cans and dumpsters it knocked down to trip me. There was a dead end, and I looked around to see where the hell the bastard went. I was about to give up right there, when a piece of rubble fell from the sky and hit me in the head, and I looked up to see the bastard climbing up on the side of the wall like he’s Spiderman. Ok well that clears up the fact that he’s either part spider, or not from this fucking world. I jumped to one of the walls of the dead end, then began performing Mario-style wall jumping until I reached the roof. By now the fucktart thing was on another rooftop. I began jumping roof to rooftop, always one rooftop behind the whatever it was. This went on for a while, until we reached a tall ass building with nowhere to jump to. The thing found itself trapped between me, and the edge. It glared at me, and snarled at me, trying to scare me.
“Ok look here. I don’t give a shit if you go around killing people, but you do NOT steal MY lunch, understand?” Apparently it didn’t, as it continued snarling at me, slowly backing toward the edge. “Hey! Do you understand me? I’m talking to you!”
Once again it failed to acknowledge my words, and without warning, jumped backwards, off the building. I quickly ran towards the edge, and looked down to see the body of the figure mangled and dead on the sidewalk. Ok now this looks really awkward; me standing on an edge and a dead body on the sidewalk in front of the building. Not like I pushed the freak, but I sure would of loved to. Before anyone could make crazy assumptions, I jumped off the building and retreated to my ally. When I came back though….the body the freak thing was munching on, was gone……………………………….......Excuse me while I go visit the nearest asylum.

Chapter 1 But the sun won’t shine…
Two things Zeva has just learned today. One, you must be in a straight jacket and surrounded by men in white to enter an asylum. And two, don’t rub your face if you just got pepper sprayed. Yes, Zeva did actually check himself to an asylum, but was denied entrance when the counter lady asked for a medical record. After flipping out, and getting pepper sprayed all over, he was finally escorted out. _______________________________________________ Though it was in the middle of the afternoon, it was a rather cloudy and cold day, certainly not the day for a walk in the park. It gave out a feeling of depression and sadness, making you wish the sun would just return again. Zeva, though, could care less about what the weather was. He was still hungry, and after dunking his face in a lake for 15 minutes, he was thirsty as well. His taste for human flesh flew off, not bothering to go to the trouble of hunting down a human again. He decided to settle with tacos, and entered a nearby Del Taco store. While he waited in this seemingly endless line, he looked around in curiosity.
Then, something caught his eye. Outside the store, he spotted a blue furry figure in the midst of the sidewalk crowd. Could it be? Is it possible? He decided to find out. He rushed out of the store, pushing and shoving people out of his way. The crowd moved fast, and he already lost sight of the figure, but he won’t give up. He rushed down the sidewalk, his eyes darting everywhere for even the slightest color of blue. After minutes of searching, he gave up due to exhaustion. He leaned to a wall next to a alley, panting.
“Damnit…I could of sworn I sa- mphf!” he was cut short when a hand popped out of the alley and covered his mouth, while another grabbed him and dragged him in. He looked over his shoulder to see the identity of his captor, only to be surprised that it was the very thing he was looking for in the first place.
“Shhh! I know you have a lot of questions to ask, but this isn’t the place for that. Come on.” _______________________________________________
“And you call this a place for a secretive discussion?”
“Well…I wanted some coffee.” Crysis shrugged, taking a sip from his coffee.
The two relocated to Starbucks which wasn’t as crowded as they’d thought it would be. Crysis looked around, then set down his coffee and sighed. “Alright look, something serious is going on.”
“Ya no shit, where the hell have you been?” “Swirling through a vortex…”
“And it took you that long to get out?”
Crysis shook his head. “Look, that isn’t the point. I wasn’t the only thing that exited the portal.”
“What so Waldo finally came out?”
“This isn’t a joke, Zeva. I’m serious.”
“Serious Crysis is serious.” That gave Zeva a whack on the head. “Ow! Fine fine, I’ll try to be serious.”
“Look, ever since I left the portal, strange things have been occurring in Hell.”
“Strange as in…?”
“Bad. Seriously bad.”
“Tell me something new.”
“Zeva, the demons started disappearing like magic. Then they did reappear, only as freakish mutants, and then they started eating everything. Including each other.”
“I wouldn’t blame them, the food in Hell tastes like shit.”
Crysis face palmed. “Look, I need you to tell me something. Have you seen anything, and I mean anything, even the smallest little thing that seemed strange?”
Zeva scratched his chin, and pondered for a second. “Weeeelll…..now that you mention it, I did see something strange. Last night, some freak stole my dinner, and I had to chase it all around the city before it fell down and died. Then when I came back, the body it was munching on was gone.”
Crysis turned pale, and opened his mouth to speak. Before he could, a loud siren blew off outside, and the sound of a tire’s screeching grew closer until a car burst into the coffee shop.
“What the fuck!” Zeva exclaimed at the sudden kamikaze car.
Crysis peered out of the large hole in the wall, realizing that he was too late to deliver his message. The sight before him was just the beginning of what’s to come, the first sign of the end. Fear took over instinct, and their minds couldn’t possibly comprehend what’s happening. Mixed in with screams of terror, were gunshots, the sound of desperation from the G.U.N soldiers that fought to protect the city and it’s people. But their efforts were no match to the power of the supernatural. Their enemy was not of the living, yet not of the dead. Their hard rocky surfaces deflected the primitive weapons the soldier’s had, and their great strength and cruelty cleared the path in front of them. Yet, they had to feed, and what was laid in front of them was their feast. Their powerful jaws ripped away the delicate human flesh, eating through bone and muscle, and Crysis stared, knowing this is only the small rain shower before the storm.
“Damn it….looks like I’m too late..” Crysis turned his head down the street opposite of the incoming chaos, then back at Zeva. “Quick, we have to get out of here fast.”
Zeva raised an eyebrow. “We? What’s with this “we”?”
Crysis rolled his eyes, then grabbed Zeva’s wrist. “Come on!” he said, dragging him out of the coffee shop and ran down the street.
“Oh please tell me this isn’t another adventure that’ll most likely get us and the Earth killed…” Zeva groaned.
Crysis looked back at Zeva, and let out a laugh. “Zeva, by now you should be used to it.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yayz, my laptop is alive again :3. Anywho, yayz for the first chapter. Feedback appreciated ^^

Chapter 2 Lost
The forest wasn’t very reassuring compared to the city left behind, where you could tell if you were being stalked or not. The dark fog of the forest wasn’t helping the eerie atmosphere either. It was a choice though, quick death, or delayed death in the forest. Our two hero’s chose the latter.
The soil on the ground was soft and damp, and the tree’s were tall and far apart, which made them a easy target for any unwanted visitors. The once green and lively trees, have been reduced to withering wrecks, giving off the smell of death and decay. Zeva paid no mind to his surroundings, being use to this type of environment.
“You do know that we were much safer in the city, then here?” Zeva said, looking around. He was mainly looking for food, despite him knowing that any living thing wouldn’t be here anyway.
“You watch too many horror movies, Zeva. I’m pretty sure they haven’t come here yet.” Crysis said, focusing on the path in front of him.
Zeva gave Crysis a look, but didn’t say anything. It was an awkward silence in an awkward place in an awkward day. Not like Zeva had anything better to do, but doing something that exerts energy wasn’t his favorite thing.
Then a thought occurred to him. Where were they going? Crysis said nothing about their destination. Perhaps he was just leading them to a safer place so they can think? Curiosity got the best of Zeva, so he decided to break the silence.
“Hey…where are we going?”
Crysis continued his focus in the path in front of him, slowly putting the silence back on. It wasn’t very long until he finally replied.
“We’re going to the nearest city, which shouldn’t be too far from here. If we’re in luck, we might be able to get supplies, help, and possibly know if this is happening in other places.”
What is going on around here? Crysis did mention he had important info about after he left the time hole, but he hasn’t spoken of it since when they were at Starbucks. Zeva guessed if Crysis wasn’t going to talk about it now, he’ll probably say it at a better time. Nethertheless, Zeva was bored, and he wanted to do something that wouldn’t make this journey into a survival horror movie.
He rubbed his chin a little, and finally snapped his fingers as an idea popped in his head. “Hey Crysis, wanna play a game?” Zeva asked excitedly. “No.”
Quick response, mission failed. But Zeva wasn’t planning on giving up anytime soon.
“Come on, it’ll be fun.”
“Ugh…fine.” Crysis said with an annoyed tone.
“Ok ok, here’s how you play…” Zeva paused, and searched the ground. He rummage through the dirt, then picked up one of the rocks in it. “Now, first you pick up a rock, and throw it into the fog. If it hits something, you get a point. If it doesn’t hit anything and touches the ground, you get no points. The first person to ten points, wins!”
Crysis raised an eyebrow. “If it’ll keep you quiet, then alright.” He looked around the ground, then picked up a rock. He tossed it in a random direction, expecting to hear a thud. There was no thud.
“Hah, nice try. My turn.” Zeva picked up a nearby rock, and examined the fog around him. He threw it forward, and listened for a thud. After a few seconds, it was apparent that there wasn’t going to be a thud.
“Well it seems your no good at this game either.” Crysis said with a smirk. He picked up another rock, and tossed it at the direction Zeva threw his, and heard a small thud.
Zeva glared at him. “Lucky shot.” He quickly grabbed another rock, and threw it in the opposite direction. Still no thud. He glared at Crysis again, who was trying his best not to laugh. He grabbed a rock, and tossed it carelessly to the left of them, hearing a large thud this time. “Let me guess, lucky shot?”
Zeva didn’t say anything, but scooped up a handful of rocks and smirked.
“Hey, that’s cheating!” Crysis exclaimed
“I never said how many rocks you can throw at once.” Zeva said, sticking his tongue out at Crysis. He chucked all of the rocks forward, hearing several thuds, but the last sound was not a thud, it was more of a clanking sound.
“I’m guessing that’s ten thuds? I win!” Zeva beamed with pride. But Crysis was more focused on another thing. Since when do tree’s go clank?
“Aw, speechless? Sad that I beat you?” Zeva teased
“Zeva….I don’t think we’re alone.” Crysis said, stopping. Zeva scoffed and continued walking down the path. “Just your imagination. There’s nothing here but tree’s and fog. If your trying to scare me, your not really doing a good job.” The air around them grew colder and colder, and the fog began to thicken. Crysis could no longer see Zeva, but he wouldn’t start panicking yet.
“Zeva?” he called out. “Zeva where the hell are you! This isn’t funny, and if this is some lame attempt to scare me…” he didn’t finish, the silence assured him Zeva wasn’t there. He remained calm, Zeva could handle himself…sort of. Crysis continued on the path, hoping he’d run into the hedgehog. The fog grew so thick, that Crysis barely saw his own hand in front of his face. He was pretty sure he was far from the normal path, and even could be walking backwards. As he walked, he saw a black figure in the mist, and sighed in relief.
“Jesus Zeva, don’t run away like that.” Crysis reached out to the figure. “If you run away like that, I swear I’m not going to go lo-” He grabbed the figure’s shoulder, and turned it around and expected to see Zeva.
Only to see the rocky deformed face once a human’s. It’s eyes were wild red, and it’s mouth covered in blood, opening it to let out a loud scream.
“GAAH!” screamed Crysis in shock, backing off from the creature instantly. But the creature lunged forward and grabbed onto Crysis, and made an attempt to take a large chunk of flesh from him. Reacting quickly, hot gusts of air blew out of Crysis’s arms, incinerating the creature’s arms. It let out a loud squeal as it’s arms burnt up into crisps, falling on the ground twisting and turning.
Crysis stepped back a little, and quickly turned around and ran. He ran as fast as he can, hearing several screeches behind him, figuring that there were plenty more nearby. The fog made it hard for him to maneuver, almost running into several trees. Several feet padded along the soft dirt, their movement fast and unpredictable.
He managed to turn his head back for a second, seeing nothing in the fog. But in that second of not paying attention, he rammed into another figure, causing both of them to fall over an edge, tumbling down a hill. After crashing into several rocks and bushes, they finally landed on a pile of leaves.
Crysis groaned and rubbed his head. Seeing how the figure didn’t try to devour him on sight, Crysis concluded it must be Zeva.
“Zeva, you idiot. I almost got killed trying to find you.” he said glaring down at the person below him. There wasn’t any fog down here, and the moonlight helped with vision. Clearly this wasn’t Zeva, why would someone who doesn’t have hunger for anything moving here?
“…Who’s Zeva?” a feminine voice came from the hedgehog-neko below him.
“O…oh…” Crysis said a bit confused and in dismay. “Sorry, I thought you were someone else…” he said, at first thinking it was a girl but then noticed it was a guy.
“Not that I don’t like cute guys on top of me, but can you get the fuck off. I have a rock under me that’s kind of breaking my spine.” the hedgehog-neko said, annoyed. Crysis got off him, and dusted himself. He took a look around his surroundings, and noticed everything was different. Apart from the loss of fog, the trees were alive and the leaves were green, and the soil was healthy and fresh.
The hedgehog-neko scoffed, trying to fix his hair. “You have a stupid look on your face, what, you never seen a forest before?”
Crysis looked at the hedgehog-neko, who seemed very…strange.
First off he had eyeliner, and lots of it. He had pale skin, like sunlight is his mortal enemy, and his fur was silver blue, with quills extending down to his mid-back. The way he straightened the bangs covering his right eye obviously meant he was hiding something under it. A teal hoody that obviously wasn’t his size, nice camouflage, black fingerless gloves, and he wore dark blue skin tight pants. Top it all off, he had pink shoes with black stripes, and Crysis wondered who the hell would pay for those.
“Yea I’m hot, but stop staring at me, pervert. Why the hell were you running in the first place? Scared of little forest?” the hedgehog-neko taunted.
“Sorry, I was just adjusting to the eyesore standing in front of me.” Crysis said, not to very happy with this guy’s rude behavior. “I was running from some monstrous humanoid creatures that tear you limb from limb. Excuse me for not wanting to be eaten.”
The hedgeneko stared at Crysis like the guy just walked out of an asylum uncured.
“…..Ok mister. How about this. You go over there, and I go over there, and we never see each other ever again” the hedgeneko said, making gestures with his fingers.
“You think I’m crazy don’t you?”
“If it wasn’t obvious enough I’d say no”
Crysis glared. “Ok then, I was thinking of saving you, but you know what you can go die for all I care.” Trusting his instincts, Crysis walked away.
The hedgeneko scoffed and tilted his head a little toward the hill. “Monsters, yea right. And they say I’m weird…”
All of a sudden loud inhumane screeches and screams were heard up the hill, that seemed to grow louder and is grew closer. He looked to the direction Crysis went, then the hill, then ran toward Crysis. “Oi, wait up!” he said. Crysis smirked in a “I told you so” way. “Now why did you change your mind?”
“Pft, I didn’t, I just happen to be going in this direction.”
Crysis just shook his head and continued walking. “You know, I never got your name.”
“Kazumi, dare I ask yours?”
“Crysis.”
“Oh like the game?”
“…What game?”
“Nevermind….” _______________________________________

Chapter 3 Break me, rape me, but you’ll never take me.
The moon shone one last time, before being covered up be clouds, putting the forest back into darkness. It was late at night, where most things would be sleeping nice and soundly. Well any normal environment such a thing would apply, but in this, it doesn’t.
Practically every creature was awoken by Crysis and Kazumi’s shouting, in an attempt to find the lost Zeva. However, after hours and hours of shouting, and almost losing their voices, they gave up and decided to move on.
Their journey out of the forest was long and tedious, and the feeling of being watched didn’t help at all. But they wouldn’t let fear control their actions, and remained calm whether a twig snapped, or a strange inhuman sound was heard.
If it weren’t for the strange lights in the horizon, the two would have a hard time maneuvering in the dark. Lights that bright could only mean civilization, and civilization equals safety….somewhat. Anything was better then staying in this death trap. The only thing they hoped for, was that the city wasn’t contaminated already.
“Personally, I hope the forests get destroyed by those things first.” Crysis said as the two walked out of the forest and onto concrete.
“You seriously have a problem-” Kazumi didn’t finish, but rather stared at the large wall that stood in front of them. It was made of metal, and had surrounded the city, cutting out all access to the outside. However, in one part of the wall it was split, and in the middle of it was a opening to the city.
Kazumi nudged Crysis with his elbow to get his attention, and pointed at the clearing. The two headed off toward it, and at one point Crysis looked back at the forest, knowing that if they had stayed in the forest a little longer, they’d surely be doomed. When they reached the clearing, they realized it wasn’t just a walk in a park. Right behind the wall was many police cars, armored vehicles and many soldiers and police officers pointing their guns at Crysis and Kazumi.
“Whoa whoa there, what’s with all the big guns?” Crysis said raising his hands in a ‘I surrender’ way. Kazumi wasn’t intimidated, instead slapping a gun away from a nearby soldier. “Don’t point that thing at me.”
The soldier grabbed Kazumi, and put his hands behind his back. Several other soldiers grabbed Crysis as well, and began searching them. Both were too shocked to realize what was going on, and the bright lights pointing at their faces weren’t exactly helping either.
“What the hell? Hey buddy, I don’t know you like that!” Kazumi shouted as the soldiers felt his body and pockets for any items. One soldier pulled out a bloody and rusty pocket knife out of one of Kazumi’s pockets, and looked at him strangely. “Uh…that’s not mine.”
The soldier put the knife away, and slammed him onto the ground. Another one pulled out a small case, opening it to reveal several needles. Crysis remained calm, figuring it was just a routine inspection, and let the needles enter his body. Kazumi on the other hand, was quite pissed off that he lost his knife and was being pushed around like he was dirt.
“Hey you better get that thing away from me! If I was infected I’d already bite your ass by now!” Kazumi said kicking the soldier away. The nearby soldiers pinned Kazumi to the ground, one of them pulling out a taser. “Hey don’t tase me, bro!”
“Would you shut up your making things wor-” Crysis started, trying to get Kazumi to stop giving the soldiers a hard time. But he was interrupted by a very loud electrical shock sound. Crysis would of face palmed right now if his arms weren’t in hold of soldier hands. _________________________________________
“That was unpleasant….” Crysis said, who was sitting on the edge of a sidewalk next to Kazumi. Kazumi turned his head to Crysis, giving him a ‘oh no fucking really?’ look. He had several bruises, and smelt like a crispy hedgeneko.
Crysis scratched his head. “Well….look in the bright side. We’re in the city…and safe.” That was true. Most of the city was still going on with their normal lives, but most parts, mainly near the outskirts, were in lockdown and heavily guarded.
Kazumi mocked a smile. “Oh yay! We’re safe in this city, despite being dirt poor and having no where to stay!”
Crysis rolled his eyes and got up. “We can easily find a job and a place to stay. But first, we should look for my friend.”
“Fine. What’s he look like?” Kazumi said, reluctantly getting up.
“He’s a black hedgehog, wears a grey coat-”
“Has grey pants and is eating a taco?”
Crysis nodded. “Ya- Wait how’d you know that?”
Kazumi pointed across the street. “He’s right there.”
And indeed he was, walking along the sidewalk eating a taco. Crysis stared with a blank look in his face, then shook his head and ran over to Zeva, followed by Kazumi.
“Zeva!” Crysis shouted
Zeva turned his head to Crysis, wondering where the hell he came from. “Oi, Crysis?” He quickly munched down the rest of his taco, then slapped Crysis across the head. “Idiot! Why the hell did you ditch me?”
Crysis rubbed his head, and raised an eyebrow. “You were the one who ditched me! Thanks to you, I almost got eaten by those things!”
“That’s funny…I didn’t see anything.” Zeva mused. He looked over to Kazumi, who was quiet the entire time. “Who’s the whore?”
Kazumi narrowed his eye. “Charming friend you got there…”
Crysis looked at Zeva, then Kazumi. “Oh! Kazumi, this is Zeva. Zeva, Kazumi. We bumped into each other at the forest.”
“What, now your picking up strays?” Zeva smirked. He was certainly in the mood to annoy someone.
Kazumi glared at Zeva. “Keep talking and your visit in this city won’t be so safe anymore.”
Crysis cleared his throat. “Ok, both of you stop it! We don’t have time for that now. We need to find a way to get some money to pay for a place to stay and supplies. We need to be out of here by tomorrow.”
Zeva dug in his pocket, and pulled out a small wad of cash. “Well I took some money, it’s enough for a room at a cheap motel. I don’t think it’ll cover supplies though.”
Kazumi smirked. “Don’t worry about that, I’ll take care of it.”
Crysis was going to ask Kazumi how he would possibly get the money for it, but he’d rather not find out.
“Alright then…meet us at the Tropicana Motel. It’s right across this block.” Zeva said.
Kazumi nodded, and walked off. _________________________________________
Truth be told, Kazumi had no idea how he’d get the money. He figured if he walked around the city, an idea might hit him. Obviously he wasn’t going to work for it, no one gives a paycheck in the first day of work. Robbing a store isn’t probably the smartest idea with all the soldiers and police around. As he continued thinking, he heard some music coming from the building next to him, and wondered what was going on there.
Curious, he walked inside, and was instantly greeted with the smell of whisky, smoke, and sex. There were men everywhere, most drunk, others stripping, and some doing NC-17 rated things on the table tops. He smiled at himself, wondering why he walked in here of all the places. As he walked toward the bathroom, he spotted an abandoned salmon on someone’s table. An idea hit him, and he grabbed the salmon and stuffed it in his back pocket. He noticed one of the guys sitting on the stools was staring at him, and he “accidentally” brushed his hand on the man’s shoulder, giving him a wink.
The man stared at Kazumi with a stupid look on his face, and immediately followed Kazumi to the bathroom. Kazumi was washing his hands, when the man burst into the bathroom. Kazumi inwardly smirked, and put on his flirting face. “Oh, hey there cutie.”
“I cin tell ya wan’ a gewd time.” the man slurred, obviously drunk beyond belief. Kazumi faked a gasp. “Oh your so naughty, we couldn’t possibly do this in the bathroom.”
The man shook his head and walked over to Kazumi, grabbing his arm. “Who cares, we have this place all to our self.” he began unzipping his pants, and leaned against the wall near the sink.
Kazumi knelt down, making a quick glance to the pant’s pockets, then looked up at the man. “Now close your eyes, and don’t peak. I’ll make you feel good.” Kazumi said, reaching for the salmon in his back pocket. He pulled it out, and stuffed it in the man’s boxer’s.
“Oh babeh, yer mouth shure is wet. You mus’ be real hungry.” the man said with a moan. Kazumi’s eye twitched as he pulled out a wallet from one of the pant’s pockets. ‘Ewwww…I don’t know whether that counts as necrophilia or bestiality…’ Kazumi thought as he hurriedly made his way out of the bathroom door, and out of the bar. _________________________________________
“Oi, Crysis…you never did tell me what exactly is happening here. I’d like to know what I’m dealing with here.”
Again, Crysis was silent, which really began to annoy Zeva. He glared at the wolf, sitting down on the bed of their motel room. “Crysis, if your going to give me the silent treatment again, I’m going to kick your as-”
“Gargounans.” Crysis blurted.
“Gesundheit.”
“No, that wasn’t a sneeze. That’s the name.”
“Name of who?”
Crysis face palmed at Zeva’s idiocy. “Name of the creature’s you moron.”
“What the hell are Gargouwanazis.”
“Gargounans are an ancient race. They-”
Zeva made a stop gesture to interrupt Crysis. “Hold on, I can tell this will be a long ass story.” He walked over to a table, and dug in the bag that laid on it. He pulled out a large taco, then went back to his bed and sat down. “Continue.”
Crysis coughed. “As I was saying. Gargounans are an ancient race that died off many many years ago. They were parasites, that moved from planet to planet and took all of it’s resources, and turned the planet’s natives into one of them. They killed many races and planets, and even became a threat to Hell. I can‘t tell if they‘ve been in Hell before or not, as all records of them have been erased.”
“If they died off, how come their attacking Earth?” Zeva asked, taking a bite off his taco.
“Remember the portals that opened up in Evil Minh’s Lost Spirit World?”
Zeva nodded.
“I’m guessing they were residing in the LSW, and escaped in one of the portals. They ended up in Hell, and somehow followed me to Earth.”
Zeva groaned. “Oh nice going asshole, you doomed Earth.”
Crysis ignored that comment and went on. “But I have a plan. Before I tried to contact you, I searched around. Gargounans never stray away from their King, so their headquarters should be nearby. I’m guessing it’s near these mountains, rocky places are always their favorite.”
At that moment, the door swung open, and in came Kazumi carrying three large traveling backpacks full of supplies. He fell on his knees, rubbing his arm, which ached from carrying the packs all this way. “I should of gotten a wheelbarrow…”
Zeva and Crysis were too busy gawking at the backpacks to help Kazumi with the backpacks.
“Where the hell did you get the money to afford this?!” Zeva said as he took one of the packs, and looked at the continents. He stopped and sniffed the air, cringing at the smell. “And…why do I smell fish?”
Kazumi got up after his arm felt better, and smiled. “Guys in this city are idiots.” he said, and turned to leave.
“Hey wait! Even though there’s only two beds, we can make a third-” Crysis started, but Kazumi interrupted him. “That’s ok, I don’t sleep. I still have some left over money, I’m going to go have fun in the city. Sweet dreams.” He said with a small wave of his hand, then left the room.
Zeva put the packs down, and jumped on his bed. “Well, looks like everything is prepared. I guess we should get some rest.”
Crysis nodded, and turned off the lights. “I just hope that when I wake up, I won’t be missing some limbs.” he laughed, as he climbed on his own bed, and fell asleep. _________________________________________
Morning came, and if it wasn’t for the alarm clock, which was neglecticly set at a late time, no one would tell. Dark clouds covered the sky, giving the feeling it was still night time. The air was stuffy and the mist was starting to head in the city. None of these details were a good thing, and neither was the news Kazumi had as he burst in the hotel room.
“Guys! Wake up! Everyone ditched us!” Kazumi shouted, causing Zeva to jump out of bed and go in a combat stance.
“WHAT, WHO WHERE?” he shouted, looking all around. Crysis groaned and got up, annoyed by Zeva’s yelling.
“Easy there Mr. Shakey. The entire city is abandoned. The people, the ass-soldiers, even the pets are gone.”
Zeva gaped. “What? And they left us behind! Assholes!”
Crysis looked out the window, and indeed Kazumi was right. Not one car was out, not one light was open.
“Well maybe if you guys weren’t such heavy sleepers then you’d probably hear the big mega horn going EVACUATE! EVERYONE EVACUATE!” Kazumi said, trying to imitate one of the soldiers.
Crysis grabbed one of the backpacks and put it on. “It doesn’t even matter anyway. We don’t really need them, and we were going to leave anyway.”
Zeva groaned and fell back on his bed, tired. “Lets just stay here for a few more hours…”
Crysis grabbed one of the backpacks, and dumped it on Zeva’s stomach, resulting in a loud “Oof!” from the other boy.
“Ugh fine fine. But I am NOT carrying this the entire way.” Zeva said, as he pushed the pack off him and got up.
Kazumi smiled. “Who’s says we’re walking? I found the perfect ride for us…” he said as he grabbed the last backpack and headed out. The two followed behind, and Zeva nearly fell over when he saw what they were going to be riding in. “You have GOT to be kidding me….”
In front of them was a medium sized RV, which looked fairly old and rusty. There was many scratches and dirt marks on it, and the windows had many cracks and dried up water marks.
Zeva walked up to the RV, and lightly kicked it, wondering if it was going to fall apart. “Where the hell did you dig this piece of junk from?”
Kazumi huffed and crossed his arms. “Well it’s not my fault everyone took their cars with them. You can stay if you want, more food for us.”
Crysis opened the door to the RV, and was instantly greeted with the smell of old pizza and beer. “Man it smells in here…”
Zeva was about to walk inside the RV, when he noticed something peculiar in the distance. He jumped onto the RV, and squinted to get a better look. “What the….guys, have you ever heard of black fog?”
Crysis looked up at Zeva. “Black fog?” he jumped onto the RV as well, and looked over the distance.
“Zeva….that’s no fog…” Crysis said in horror.

Chapter 4 Are we dead yet?
Ever heard of the phrase, “someone was in the wrong place and the wrong time”? A widely used phrase that described a poor unsuspecting someone getting caught in another’s business. In most cases, this usually is a bad thing, but it can also be good.
However, in this case, it was a bad thing. A very bad thing. With no security, no walls, and certain doom arriving, waking up in the wrong place and the wrong time was a very bad thing. Now, the smallest of a second would determine whether they live, or not. And Crysis was going to make sure not one second would be put into waste…
“Guys, get in the RV.” Crysis jumped off the RV.
Zeva scratched his head, and also got off the RV. “I still don’t see what the rush is, we could use this time to find another vec-” Crysis shot a glare at Zeva, which instantly shut him up. He walked in the van, followed by Kazumi.
“Alright then, lets get this death trip going.” Kazumi sighed, sitting on the driver’s seat and starting the engine. He checked the rear view mirror, and noticed the fog as well. He was about to speak up, when Crysis yelled for him to go already. Kazumi backed the RV from the motel, then went down the street that led to the mountain road.
Crysis was constantly checking the back window, to see if the strange black “fog” was coming closer. It seemed fairly far away, so they seemed safe. Until the top of the RV went bump…
Zeva looked up, then at Crysis. “What was…that?”
Crysis didn’t respond, but stuck his head out of the window, and looked around. He stuck his head back in, and glanced over at Zeva. “I think we may have a problem…”
Zeva raised an eyebrow, and decided to open the sunroof. Now he understood what the problem was. Behind the RV was thousands of deformed creatures similar to the ones at the forest, running at high speeds to catch up to the RV. Some tried to latch onto it, but ended up falling off.
“Oh…this isn’t good.” Zeva said.
“What? What’s going on back there?” Kazumi said, eyes on the road.
“Nothing, keep driving. Zeva follow me.” Crysis crawled out of the sunroof, and stood on the top of the RV, followed by Zeva. The creatures instantly switched their target from the RV to Zeva and Crysis, and began jumping toward them. Crysis kicked away a creature that lunged at him, and frowned. “Looks like we have no choice then to fight them off.
Zeva smirked, and clapped his hands together. All of a sudden a very large flail appeared in his hands. “Hah! No problem. I was waiting for this trip to get fun anyways.” He swung the flail, and thrust the metal spiked ball at the ground in front of them, sweeping away many of the creatures away. The RV shifted to the right a little, causing Zeva to stumble a bit, but held on the rail to keep him from falling off.
One of the abominations had crawled up the side, and grabbed Zeva’s leg in an attempt to pull him off the RV. Zeva started kicking at it, trying to get it off, when a large chain appeared from the ground and grabbed the creature, yanking it away.
Crysis shot more of the chains at the creatures, more focused on keeping them off the RV then killing them. “If you fall off this RV, I’m not coming to get you.”
Zeva swung his flail again. “If one of those things get you, I’m not getting it off you.” He thrust it again, this time hitting a skyscraper, causing it to fall over and block out the entire street. “And that solves that.”
Crysis wasn’t to sure of that. The creatures could of easily crawled over the skyscraper, but there was no sign of them. It was like they just…vanished. He jumped back into the RV with Zeva, hoping they wouldn’t follow them to the mountains… _________________________________________
“You know…..you guys never told me what those things are…”
“Uh…it’s…..complicated. Right now just focus on driving.” Zeva said, munching on a taco.
“I’m not your chauffer, and…is that taco’s I smell? Hey give me one!” Kazumi whined.
Zeva held the bag of tacos defensively. “No these are my tacos! Keep your eyes on the road!”
Kazumi groaned, and after a few seconds, he let go of the wheel and tried to grab the bag of tacos from Zeva.
“Hey! Let go of my tacos! Keep your eye on the road!” Zeva shouted, trying to win this game of tug-o-tacos.
Crysis ignored the two, more focusing on the map he held. But he did notice the RV began to curve to the right, where there was a good o’ edge of doom waiting for them.
“Look I’ve been driving for hours, I need some energy!”
“Well eat something else! These tacos are mine and only mine!”
“Uh…guys…”
“I don’t want to eat anything else, now give me a taco!”
“GUYS! KAZUMI! THE ROAD!” Crysis shouted noticing the RV was dangerously close to the edge. Kazumi quickly went back to the driver’s seat and spun the wheel to the left, getting back on track. “All I wanted was a damn taco, god…”
The wolf side in relief, and went back to his map. “Now according to this map, our only option is to follow the mountain road around the mountain, which might take some time…”
Zeva groaned, falling on his back. “Why can’t we just cut right through the mountain? I hate cars..”
Crysis rolled up the map, and smacked Zeva on the head with it. “Idiot, do you want to be a walking dinner for those things? We’re safer in this car.”
Zeva narrowed his eyes and whispered. “I don’t feel so safe with him driving….”
"I heard that!” _________________________________________
Night shrouded the sky’s again, and it was once more quiet. Zeva and Crysis were sleeping, Zeva hugging a bag of taco’s in fear of Kazumi snatching it. Speaking of Kazumi, instead of doing the driving he should be doing, he decided to take a break. He was sitting relaxed on the driver’s seat, with his feet up on the wheel, and was reading a magazine while listing some music on his CD player. The RV was parked as close to the wall as possible, in case anything happened.
The hedgeneko hummed along the song that was playing, about to turn the page when he heard an eerie moan outside the RV. He paused the CD player, and looked out the front window. After a few seconds of listening, he resumed the CD player, only to hear the eerie moan again. He groaned and nearly threw the CD player and magazine, getting up. He walked over to one of the backpacks, and pulled out a flashlight. “I swear, I never get a break around here…”
He walked outside and turned on the flashlight, flashing the light around. There was no sign of anything strange, and the moaning has stopped. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to search around. There was nothing but the cold air of the night, but something did seem strange. When Kazumi walked over to the edge, there was a large rock wall in front of him.
“That’s funny….I don’t remember a wall here.” he mused, feeling it. It was a warm wall, which was strange since it was so cold out. He walked down the road, tracing the wall with his hand, until he came to the end of the wall. That was when it moved, surprising Kazumi. He flashed the flashlight to the wall, and saw that it was in midair, and clenched its fingers to a fist. Wait…fingers?
“Oh.….” Kazumi seemed to realize too, but was unable to react when the fist rammed into him, sending him to the RV, ramming to the side of it and literally caused it to fall over on it’s side. The sudden flip woke both Zeva and Crysis, who were greeted with many falling things crashing into their faces.
“OW! What the hell is going on?!” Zeva shouted. To further put more confusion in Zeva’s question, a very loud moan was heard outside the RV, followed by several sounds of giant feet crashing into the Earth. At that moment, the passenger door opened up, and Kazumi fell inside, his head bleeding.
Crysis looked confused, freaked out, and tired at the same time. “What is going on here? And what happened to you!”
Kazumi ignored his injuries, and focused on getting his foot unstuck from the bottom of the passenger seat. “Well in short, we’re screwed.”
Zeva got up, and made his way to the passenger door. “That’s it, I’m getting out of this shitty car and teach whatever’s out there a painful lesson!” The RV began shaking, and Crysis got the feeling they were no longer touching the ground.
“Too late!” Crysis shouted, holding onto one of the back seats. The RV began to be crushed under immense force, and was thrown far far away. _________________________________________
“…”
“..Zeva..”
“….”
“…Oiy Zeva.”
“..Neh…not now Shag…”
“ZEVA!”
That got him to wake up. Zeva bolted into a sitting up position, frantically looking around. “Whasgoingonwherearewehuh?” Zeva said all too quickly. Crysis grabbed Zeva’s shoulders, and shook him awake.
“Get a hold of yourself!”
Zeva rubbed his head, blinking a few times to get his vision clear. He looked around, finding that the RV was now upside down, and there was sand all over the ground. There was very little ceiling room, since it was crushed halfway down. Everything was totaled, the chairs, the walls, and more importantly, the supplies.
“Where…are we? What happened?” Zeva asked, getting up.
Crysis sighed and kicked the side door open. Zeva gasped, and crawled outside, followed by Crysis. They were no longer in the mountains, hell, who knows where they are. The only thing around them was a barren wasteland, with it going miles and miles in every direction.
“How…the hell…did we end up here?!” Zeva shouted, causing an echo.
Crysis scratched his head, and kicked some dirt around. “Well…whatever that thing was that attack our RV, it sent us flying over here. I don’t know what here is anyway, there was no mention of a desert in the map…”
Zeva glared at Crysis, absolutely furious, with a bit of crankiness. “You mean to tell me….we are stuck in the middle of NOWHERE, with NO supplies…OR TACOS!?”
“Yup.” the other said flatly.
“Oh my fu-…GAAAHH!” Zeva stomped the ground like a little kid. “THAT’S IT! LAST TIME I EVER-” before he can finish his little rant, there was a scream that came from inside the RV. Zeva and Crysis quickly went inside, only to see there was blood everywhere, and a very scared and panicked Kazumi sitting near the wrecked driver’s seat, holding his knees to his chest, with blood dripping from his chin. Tears flowed out of his eye, and he continued whispering "Go away....go away."
“What the hell happened to him!?” Zeva asked as he crawled over to Kazumi and tried to comfort him.
“How the hell should I know! He was sleeping like a baby before!” Crysis said, then remembered what Kazumi had said that night in the motel room. “Oh……I think I know why he doesn’t sleep…”
Zeva managed to calm Kazumi down a bit, and went to check the backpacks. It was just as he thought, ruined. The food, the supplies, everything was smashed. He sighed and threw the backpack on the ground, and went out of the RV. “Our ride is totaled, our driver is having an episode, and our supplies are gone. Is it safe to say that we’re doomed?”
“No…I wouldn’t say so yet. I highly doubt that thing would throw us across the country. We just need to keep going south-east.” Crysis said.
Zeva looked around for a few seconds, then back at Crysis. “Where the hell is south-east?”
Crysis pointed in a direction. “Instincts say that way.”
“….Should I even trust your instincts?”
“Probably not, but we have nowhere else to go.” Crysis said, then went back in the RV to get Kazumi.
“….One of these days, I will push that guy over a cliff…then laugh like an idiot.” _________________________________________ -waves hand in front of your computer screen- You will leave feedback………-waves hand again- And you will give me a bottle of eggnog.

Chapter 5
Death be not proud. For some have called thee mighty and dreadful, thou art not so.
There were too many hazards in this situation here. One, it was deadly hot outside, which made it feel like Earth was sitting right next to the sun. Two, there was that feeling of being watched. Even though there was not another living thing for miles, there was that awkward tension that never seemed to break off. And three, a starving Zeva, who would eat his two friends just to survive…
“Zeva get the hell off, for the last time I am NOT a taco!” the wolf exclaimed, trying to get the other boy off him, who actually tried to take a chomp off his flesh.
A part of Zeva‘s body told him to get off, while the other half urged him to take a bite. “I CAN’T HELP IT! I NEED FOOD!”
In the midst of this struggle, Kazumi stood there giggling his head off when he should of helped calm the crazed hedgehog. Finally Crysis got Zeva off him, and nearly beat his head in while at it. “Look, I know we’ve been walking for hours, and we’re starving too, but for god’s sake if you try to eat either one of us again, I will rip off your head and shove it up your ass and through your digestive system.”
Zeva scoffed at the other’s threat, and acted like nothing even happened. “Jeeze Crysis, no need to be so violent. I mean in order to survive, we should at least eat each other’s limb….or two.”
“Che, I’d eat Zeva’s brain, but he doesn’t have one.” Kazumi retorted. Zeva glared at Kazumi, who glared back.
Crysis face palmed. He gave up. “While you two spend the rest of the day eating each other, I’m going to find a way out of this des-GAH!” The ground he stepped on collapsed, and he found himself tumbling down a pit that seemed to go forever. Zeva and Kazumi rushed over to the edge, and looked down. The pit turned out to be a crater, and a very large one at that. The bottom of it had bits of large metal pieces and various rubble scattered around.
Seeing how it was somewhat safe, the two skidded down the hill to join Crysis. Zeva helped Crysis up, who was rather annoyed at the moment.
“Well at least we know that something happened here.” Kazumi said. Zeva poked one of the piece of rubble that stuck out of the ground, unsure on his decision to join Crysis down here.
“Question is…” Zeva pulled the piece of rubble, revealing to be half of a caterpillar track. “..if that something was bad.” Zeva suddenly turned around, and had the feeling someone else was here. He started walking near a large metal piece, when all of a sudden he felt something grab his leg. It was a man in a G.U.N uniform, or at least that’s what it looked like. His body was torn apart, as if multiple things took turns in take pieces of his flesh. His legs were crushed and opened up, and there were few bullet holes around his arms and shoulders, showing signs of panic fire. His face was ripped open, showing his bare flesh and parts of his jaw bone were shown.
“What the hell? Man what is wrong with you!” Kazumi exclaimed, watching the entire scene.
Zeva stomped the hand off him, and looked at Kazumi. “What? He startled me!”
“Doesn’t mean you can go around blasting people’s heads off! That guy was still alive!”
“He looked dead to me.”
“Ok who cares! For once can you two stop fighting! Something was here, and I‘m not waiting for it to come back.” Crysis said, and started back up the hill.
Kazumi nodded. “I agree, I’m getting out of here.”
Unfortunately, they wouldn’t be leaving so soon. The ground shook suddenly, and it started breaking outwards. A mountainous hand emerged from the hole, and gripped the earth below, pulling the rest of it’s body out. The entire area was shadowed by the gargantuan creature as it stood, tilting its head down to the three who stood like ants to its view. The creature’s skin was rock hard and impenetrable, and were like the creature wore armor. Its head, though unseen by any ground perspective, was shielded by a helmet similar to that of a Viking’s.
Crysis remained unconcerned, opposite of the other two who stood there mouth agape. “Don’t panic…if we just remain calm and think, we might get out of…” he felt no ears on him, and turned around to see the other two running as fast as their feet can go. “…this…”
The colossus’s groan boomed out to the earth as it raised its arms in the air, then brought it down, pounding the poor earth below it. The ground broke apart from the weight of the arms, bringing down Zeva, Crysis, and Kazumi along with it. The ground wasn’t left scarred, it continued to push itself downward, as if there was no earth beneath it. The groans of the giant above grew fainter and fainter, and the glow of light started to grow smaller. The three were falling in darkness, one that didn’t seem to end. Zeva felt around for a rock, then climbed on top of it. He told Crysis and Kazumi to do the same, who spent a longer time finding the rock then Zeva did.
Light began to shine below them, and ground grew closer and closer until finally everything came crashing upon concrete. The large rock broke in half, but was sturdy enough to stay in place after words. The three got off the rock, and looked around. There were many shelves and boxes, most crushed, and several other utensils lying around. They seemed to be in a storage room of some sorts, but the mystery is how they even ended up here.
“Aaaand once again, we’re off track. Seriously, we should just give up…” Zeva said, wondering if there was anyway back up the hole.
Crysis opened the door out of the storage room, and stepped into a hallway. Papers, pencils, folders, chairs, and many other things were spread across the hallways, like many were in a rush. Kazumi and Zeva followed, wondering what the heck happened. There were many doors and arrows pointing to certain sections.
“Looks like some facility…” Crysis said.
Zeva cringed. He had various bad experiences with facilities, and an abandoned one is even worse. “Someone was in a hurry…”
Kazumi examined the arrows pointing in different directions, trying to find any important places. One of the arrows pointed left with a label under it titled “Cafeteria”. The other pointing in the opposite direction had a label with the title “Security Room”. “Hey, this place has a cafeteria!”
Zeva nearly snapped his head when he turned toward Kazumi. He glanced at the arrow, and immediately ran toward the direction.
Crysis rolled his eyes at the overly dramatic Zeva, then looked at the other arrow. “Right then, Zeva and I are going to stock up on food…that is if he doesn’t eat it all. Go to this security room and look around, maybe we might find something.” He headed off, leaving Kazumi alone in the hallway. He didn’t mind the eerie atmosphere, he was sure he could take on anything that popped out. _________________________________________
Screaming, running, like a herd. The brave ones stood behind, shooting at the incoming creatures. Every screen, running, and screaming. The G.U.N soldiers fought strongly to protect the other civilians and scientists, but their weapons were outdated to the eyes of the incoming beasts.
In one screen, a man was being ripped apart by his fellow workers, snarling and growling proving their humanity was lost to the many other creatures who were raiding the facility. Then all the screens focused on the hallways, and the exits. The exits were closed due to the alarm of a security breach, and many attempted to bypass the security locks. It was useless though, the beasts eventually caught up with them, and started picking them off one by one like fruits in a fruit basket. The screens then flickered, and the incoming grotesque scenes passed by rapidly in fast motion, until it resumed in regular motion, where all the halls were deserted.
Kazumi sighed and tossed the remote back on the security desk, already seen enough of the recordings. The place was entirely empty, and the only signs of life were in the Cafeteria where Crysis stuffed food in a bag and Zeva stuffed food in his mouth. He spun around a few times in the rolling chair, then got up and left the security room. He made his was toward the cafeteria to meet up with Zeva and Crysis, when he heard a sniffling sound coming from down the hall. A survivor? It was possible, Kazumi did skim through the recordings, he could of missed something.
Curious, he walked down the hall to see what the source of the sniffling is. When he turned the corner, his eye grew wide in shock. Did his vision deceive him? His brain failed to process anything, as kneeling on the ground in the middle of the hallway with their heads down, were two dark silver female hedgehogs. They were identical twins, with minor differences. The one on the right had her quills down, and her hair style resembled Kazumi’s. She had heavy eyeliner on, along with black lipstick. The one on the left had her hair and quills tied back, and had no make-up on. Both were wearing black funeral dresses, with black mesh shirts underneath, and black shoes.
They raised their heads and stared at Kazumi with tear filled eyes. Kazumi couldn’t bare look at their sad faces, but his body wasn’t listening to him and refused to move.
“Kazumi-chan…..why…” the girl on the right started, tears flowing down her cheeks.
“Why…did you kill…us?” the other one finished. _________________________________________
If it wasn’t in the bag, it was eaten. After eating nearly everything in the food storage, Zeva laid on the ground and sighed in satisfaction. Crysis lightly kicked him in the head. “Hey hey, don’t get all lazy now. We have to find Kazumi and get out of here.”
Zeva groaned. “Lets just stay here and wait for Kazumi.” He was about to close his eyes, when he heard a loud bang outside the cafeteria.
Crysis looked at the door, and heard footsteps. “Someone’s coming! Quick, hide!” Crysis pulled Zeva to his feet, and the two ran over to the lunch line, jumping and hiding behind it. At that moment, the cafeteria door burst open, and a man walked in. He was wearing a cloak with his hoody up, and was carrying a silver briefcase. He took a look around, and slowly walked forward.
“Hey, Ni, you in here?” the man spoke out. Silence answered him back. “She’s late? Hm….heh. She must of found a new toy..” He turned around, and left the cafeteria. After a few minutes, Crysis and Zeva got out of their hiding place.
“Who the hell was that?” Zeva asked.
Crysis gave Zeva an annoyed look. “I’m going to ignore that stupid question. Come on, we got to get out of here.” _________________________________________
Kazumi’s mind was filled with questions right now. The biggest one is, how is this possible? He wanted to say something, but his lips didn’t move.
“We…looked after you….we worried about you….we loved you…”
“And then you killed us….”
Again that word. Whether he was dreaming or not, he didn’t like that word.
“It wasn’t my fault!” Kazumi suddenly shouted. “I didn’t…mean to…it’s all because of-”
“Me?” a voice came out from behind them. A young girl emerged from the darkness that now replaced the once bright hallway. Black hoody….apathetic voice…blank face…it was no doubt. “Now now Kazumi-chan….it’s bad to not admit your own mistakes.”
Kazumi started at the girl, adding anger to his mixed pool of emotions of shock and despair. “Your….you can’t be…your…dead”
The girl’s mouth twist upward in an attempt to smirk, but her eyes remained the same blank look as always. “It wasn’t me who made you kill your darling sisters….you did it on your own..”
“No….” Kazumi couldn’t finish his sentence, he didn’t know what to say.
Evil Minh giggled a little, and suddenly pulled out a black sword with a large blade. “This….” She began, and with one quick swipe, her blade passed through the two hedgehog’s necks, blood splattering on the wall beside them. There was two thuds, blood making a trail as they rolled across the floor. The bodies went limp, and fell over. Evil Minh giggled again. “…was my fault.”
Kazumi gasped in horror, which was the only thing that managed to come out of his mouth. Whatever cruel reality he was in, he wanted out, he wanted to run. Run far, and never stop.
“Your mad aren’t you? Hm…I can smell your anger. You want to kill me?” Evil Minh dropped the sword. “Do it. I am unarmed.”
Rage. That was the one thing that motivated Kazumi’s body at that moment. Without hesitation, Kazumi charged at Evil Minh, his hand glowing black. Swiftly, he swiped his hand toward Evil Minh’s neck, who didn’t move the entire time, and didn’t move at all when his hand ripped through her neck, decapitating her. When he turned to see his accomplishment, he found that the entire hallway was empty again, the bodies…the mess…all gone. What the heck was going on?
“You’ll never learn Kazumi-chan…..you can never escape me. I will haunt you forever…” Evil Minh’s voice echoed through the hallway. Confusion was driving Kazumi’s insanity further, and he began to shout for Zeva and Crysis. No one answered him, everything was silent around him.
Until a familiar voice from within his mind spoke. “Kazumi-san…please wake up…your trapped….you need to wake up…” The voice reassured him.
With that, he broke through, his eyes snapping open to reality. He was laying down on a hallway, and on top of him was a woman who had her hand hovering above Kazumi’s mouth, absorbing the life energy that came out of it. She gasped and quickly jumped away from Kazumi.
“You…broke the illusion. I didn’t think an earthling could do that..” she said. She looked rather…strange. She was wearing a strange metal blindfold over her eyes. She had short brown hair, and her bangs covered most of the top of the blindfold. She wore a black open cloak, with a black short leather top, and black leather short shorts. She scraped the sole of her thigh high black boots on the floor, wiping off blood she stepped on.
Kazumi got up, glaring darkly at the woman. He felt as if he ran five miles, but he was too angry to care how tired he felt. “You….playing with my emotions like that…and controlling me like a puppet. I’ve had that experience before…but relieving it again is something I’m not going to tolerate.” he gripped his fists tightly, and his hands started to glow black again.
The woman smirked, and reached for two strange looking hilts strapped to side, pulling them out of their clips. “I promised Callach I wouldn’t be late…” a loud hum came out from the hilts, as two red beams of light came out from the holes in the hilts. “I guess he won’t mind me being a few minutes late.” She twirled her lightsabers around, then dashed toward Kazumi. _________________________________________
Crysis sniffed the air again, and quickly lead Zeva down yet another hallway. “We’re getting closer to him.”
“This is starting to become a goose chase…” Zeva said in an annoyed tone. Crysis lead Zeva toward another longer hallway, and stopped when they reached an elevator. “He went up here…”
Zeva rubbed his head in confusion. “Wait what? An elevator? I thought this was a one story place…”
“Well if that guy went in this elevator, it must be important. Come on.” Crysis dragged Zeva into the elevator. The inside had only one button on it, and that was an arrow pointing up. Crysis pressed the button, and the elevator closed it’s doors, and in unbelievable speed, it elevated upwards. _________________________________________

Chapter 6
You're poison running through my veins
The elevator finally reached to a stop, and the doors opened up, thick mist welcoming the two. How did the elevator even ended up here? Where is here anyway? The mist didn’t help with vision either, so Crysis and Zeva stepped out of the elevator and walked into the mist. They couldn’t of been in the surface, it should still be daylight out and there was no sign of light here.
But in the distance, was a bright light. Light in a place like this could only mean one thing, someone else was here. Whether that someone was a friend or foe, the two ventured on forward, ready to face anything. As they approached the light, the mist dispersed. A large out-worldly building took up most of the area, and in front of it was a mass of figures. Crysis and Zeva crouched down, and crawled in for a closer look.
Hundreds, thousands, maybe hundred of thousands of armor plated creatures stood like statues, all lined up in an organized way in front of the building complex.
“Looks like we’re not so late after all….” Zeva whispered.
Crysis wouldn’t hold on to that statement just yet. It was obvious this was an invasion force, and by the looks of it they were all prepared and ready to go. He quickly got back on track, and sniffed the air again. After a brief scan of the area, Crysis found one opening to the side of the building that linked to the scent. He notified Zeva of the opening, and looked back at the army. They weren’t facing their direction, so the two quickly made a run for the door.
They safely made it inside, and Zeva quietly closed the door behind them. They were standing in a dark corridor, the only lights were flashing red ones in the ceiling. Crysis and Zeva proceeded forward, Crysis relying on the scent to lead them to the right path. They took a left that had a staircase to the level above, and headed up it. When they reached this new corridor, it was a wreck. The lights flickered on and off, and the ceiling was halfway collapsed. Netherless, Crysis continued to lead Zeva to their goal, going corridor to corridor. With each corridor, it was even messier and messier, the doors broken down and there were many holes in the wall like something broke in.
After several minutes of tracking, they finally reached a large dark room. The only thing in the room, was a set of stairs that lead to a large chair that seemed to be made of bones. To the left was a large casement window, the large army within its view. However, the room was empty, and the scent Crysis had ended here.
“So………that’s it?”
Crysis looked confused, they should be in the right spot, he couldn’t of confused the scent with another. “Well….this is where the trail ends. Maybe if we backtrac-” Suddenly a large fist burst out of the ground, and aimed at Zeva and Crysis. The two quickly jumped back in surprise, managing to dodge the fist in time. Loud cackling echoed throughout the empty room, and the cloaked man before jumped out of the hole.
“Well well well. Seems like I was followed. Let me take a while guess…you two are the brave little hero’s that have the guts to try and stop us?” the man said.
Zeva snorted. “Hey pal, I could care less on what your doing here. But you ruined my relaxation time, and that is not something I shrug off lightly.”
Unlike Zeva, Crysis remained quiet. The man glanced over at Crysis and chuckled. “You seem to be more intelligent then your friend here. I’m guessing you already know what your doing is a suicide mission.” He pulled down his hood, and grabbed his enlarged fist, shrinking it down to its normal size. He was wearing a strange silver mask that looked similar to a gas mask. Only, the mask was actually attached to his face, bolted down with several nails. He had red hair spiked back, with two bangs hanging down to his face.
Crysis took another look around the room, in case there were reinforcements. After seeing it was clear, he spoke up. “Where is your king?”
The man cackled again. “Well aren’t we being blunt about it. I will tell you nothing, so don’t expect anything from me.”
Zeva smirked, and dashed toward the man. “Well then, I guess that means your worthless to us now!”
“No Zeva wait! We’ll take him together!” Crysis called out, but Zeva wasn’t listening. When Zeva was within distance of the man, he threw a punch at him. The man reared back, and countered with his own, enlarged, fist. The fist blew Zeva back, crashing into the stairs.
“Well I was right. He isn’t bright at all.”
Suddenly chains shot out of the ground behind the man and made an attempt to wrap around him. He jumped in the air, narrowly escaping the chain’s grasp.
Zeva emerged from the rubble, gritting his teeth in anger. “That’s it, this guy is pissing me off!” His hands began to glow, and he shot out many energy blasts at the man. Still in mid-air, the man’s hand grew larger until it reached the ground, and he pounded the ground with his palm, pushing himself out of the way of the blasts.
More chains came out of the ground, and started wrapping around the man’s enlarged arm, but it shrunk and avoided the chains once more. Making use of this opening, Crysis jumped in the air and shot a stream of his blood at the man. The blood knocked him to a wall, and seemed to make him stick there. Crysis snorted, and spat at the blood.
“Boom.” he said right as the spit made contact with the blood and created a large explosion, blowing the walls open. The army looked up at the explosion, then got in a fighting stance.
“Oh nice going Crysis…” Zeva said, getting ready for any attack.
Crysis glared at Zeva, then focused on the army. “At least we got rid of the pest. I’m sure we can take on an army.”
“Pest? I think the pests here are you two.” a voice said from within the smoke. When the smoke cleared up, there stood the man, without one scratch on him.
Crysis stood there in disbelief. “What the…I hit you dead on!”
The man chuckled, and cracked his knuckles. “It’ll take a lot more then that to get rid of me.”
“Then I’ll guess we’ll have to dish out more!” a voice shouted from behind the man. He turned around sharply to see Zeva dive down at him. He tried to jump away, but Zeva was too quick for him, and smacked his palm at the man’s chest, and a burst of black energy came out from the impact. The man’s body began to spasm out of control, until he felt it go entirely numb and was unable to move. Zeva retracted back, then did a roundhouse kick at the man’s face, knocking him away.
The man started wheezing and panting out of control, and when the numbness wore off, he gripped his damaged mask tight. “S-shit..no….not….ag-…ain.” he grumbled between his wheezing.
“Oh my bad. I’m sorry a broke your little inhaler.” Zeva mocked.
The man got up, still wheezing and panting a little, and jumped out of the hole in the wall, landing near the army.
Zeva growled. “Fucking coward!” He jumped out of the hole in the wall as well to pursue the man, despite Crysis’ calls to fall back. Reluctantly, Crysis followed Zeva to confront the man. Zeva glared at the man and stopped running after him, knowing the odds were in his favor.
The man cackled again. “What’s the matter? Afraid? Come try and get me.”
Zeva and Crysis didn’t move.
“Well, it looks like I win then. Surrender, and we might let you live…” Crysis sighed, and put his hands in the air, elbowing Zeva to do the same. But his pride wouldn’t let him, and Zeva crossed his arms. “I’m not surrendering to no one!”
“Well…I admire your courage…but your stupidity will be your downfall.” The man pointed a finger at Zeva, and it began to glow brightly. Zeva was unphased by this, and was ready for any attack. Right when the man was about to fire the attack, he quickly switched his target to Crysis, and fired a white beam of light at him. The surprised Crysis was unable to react in the time, and the beam pierced him, knocking him to the ground.
“Woops….I guess my aim is bad, huh?”
Zeva stood in shock, his eyes widening at the fallen Crysis. This scene was déjà vu to him. He stared at the man, and then it clicked. The man…the boy in the black hoody. Grinning evilly his fallen counterpart. It all came back to him, and his anger was exploding within him. Minh…his old friend…now Crysis. He couldn’t afford to lose another friend to some asshole punk….he wouldn’t let it happen. Anger clouded his vision, and a dark aura appeared around Zeva.
The man raised an eyebrow, and staggered when the ground suddenly began to shook. The dark aura around Zeva grew bigger, until it began to swallow him. A loud cry of rage echoed through the sky, and the aura exploded. Zeva’s body began shaking violently, and an black shadow arm burst out of his chest. Another one came out, and then an entire body. It was some sort of creature, its entire body covered in shadows. It was hunched over, most likely from the weight of the large spikes that protruded out of its back. Its long serpent tail swung around, slamming into the ground occasionally.
What was this thing? Could it be…Zeva? The only thing that could link to the two, was that its head was still in the shape of a hedgehog’s, more specifically, Zeva’s. Two glowing eyes opened up, and scanned the area, until fixing its anger on the man. It let out a shrill cry, and ran toward him. It was not relying on anger anymore, not on intelligence, but on instinct. Primal instinct. _________________________________________
The halls echoed from hums and clashing, turning the once deserted place into a dangerous battle between the two. The walls were riddled with scorch marks and holes from the deadly girls’ weapons. She took a second to look at a clock on the wall, and growled, swinging the sabers more rapidly.
“Kid, your making me late. Why don’t you stop resisting and give up already? I can tell your tired.”
Kazumi continued to defend against the sabers, the energy coating his arms defending him against the saber’s deadly slashes. She was right though, he was getting tired. It was like she had unlimited stamina, whatever she threw at him didn’t tire her out at all. As she began another chain of attacks, Kazumi quickly sunk in the ground, and emerged half-way midair from behind Ni. His hand began to glow, and he shoved his hand behind Ni’s back. The hand seemed to just phase through, and ripped out a piece of Ni’s energy, getting absorbed into his arm. Ni staggered a bit, feeling a bit tired. She quickly turned around to attack Kazumi, but he already sunk back into the air and emerged from the ground.
With her back turned, he dug both his hands into her life force again, and tore off another chunk, absorbing it. He felt less tired now, unlike Ni who became more weary. She quickly turned around and sent a horizontal slash with one of her sabers. Kazumi jumped forward, away from the slash, and sent a kick to her face as he was over her. She ducked from the kick, and sent her other saber toward Kazumi. He sunk into the air before the saber can reach him, remerging out of the wall.
When he landed on the ground, Ni made a hand gesture, and all of a sudden Kazumi felt himself get pulled toward her. She brought her hand up, and went to impale Kazumi as he approached her. Kazumi coated his hand with energy again, and smacked the saber away from him, and kicked her into the wall. While she was down, he shot a orb of light from his hand toward her.
Using the force, Ni pushed the orb back to Kazumi who reacted quickly and sunk in the ground, appearing away from the orb as it burst into a flash of light, and caused the area around it to be sucked in a miniature vortex and implode. Ni got back to her feet, and ran toward Kazumi. He sunk his hands in the air, reemerging right under Ni, and grabbed her ankles and began sucking out her life force.
Ni tried to get out of Kazumi’s grasps, but he wasn’t planning on letting go. She growled, and threw one of her sabers at him. Kazumi gasped, and quickly let go of her ankles and brought his hands back to him, dodging the saber just in time. She ran to attack Kazumi’s opening, but he quickly sunk into the ground, reemerging behind her. Her thrown saber shook a bit, then flew back into her hand.
“I’m really late….alright, enough of these games. I’m going to end this now!” Ni spun her sabers around, and ran toward Kazumi.
“I was thinking the same thing…” Kazumi brought his hands forward, and they began to glow. He waited until Ni was close enough, then a dark light shot out of his hands, spiraling in the air before meeting contact with Ni’s mouth. Her body froze, and she felt her body fail on her. Out of her mouth came a trail of blue energy that followed through the spiral, and into Kazumi’s hands. When the blue energy stopped flowing out of her mouth, the spiraling dark light disappeared, and slowly Ni’s body turned to stone.
Kazumi sighed and walked up to Ni, poking her forehead. “Bye.” he giggled, and pushed her over with the finger, her stone body shattering into pieces. He turned around, and walked away.
All of a sudden, he felt a sharp and burning pain in his right shoulder, and he looked over at it to see a red lightsaber pierce into to it. It was about to move upwards to make an attempt of slicing his arm off, but he quickly sunk into the air and emerged out in a safer spot. He groaned and grabbed his wound, though the blood was cauterized, he can still feel the heat of the lightsaber boil up his blood. He looked over at the wielder of the saber that attacked him, and sure enough it was Ni. He glanced at the statue, then back at Ni, confused.
“Thought you had me? Oh you guessed wrong.” she grinned, and brought her arm down. “You can’t kill me. I am not alive, I am not dead. I exist, I do not exist. I am the essence of your fear. You cannot escape me, you cannot end me.”
Kazumi got up, his wound was healing, but the burns were making it very slow. Looks like he won’t be leaving anytime soon… _________________________________________

Chapter 7
Scream
The level of arrogance that a person can achieve is surprisingly low. Any higher would be pure stupidity or ignorance. As he fled behind the soldiers, he watched the raging monster shred through the soldiers, like a lawnmower and grass, as it made its way to him. His thoughts were interrupted by a rapid beeping coming from his wrist, and he pulled back his sleeve to respond to the annoying watch.
“Sir Callach, has the warhead been retrieved yet?” a voice said from the watch.
Callach didn’t know what to say. His reputation was on the line here, and even more importantly his life. He brought the watch closer to his mask and spoke. “Bring a dropship here….and be quick about it.”
“But sir-”
“Those are orders. I want a dropship here as fast as possible, no excuses.” He hung up before the other can respond, and commanded the soldiers around him to go on the offensive. They did as they were told, but with one swoop of his arm, Zeva sent them flying in the air. Zeva leapt high in the air, and then dive-bombed back to the ground, the impact knocking the horde of soldiers away. Soon the soldiers had their doubts on survival, and fear began to fill them as the few hundred left started to retreat.
Callach jumped onto the building complex, and quickly made his way up to the top. He hoped the soldiers would provide a good enough distraction until the dropship arrived, but said distraction didn’t last very long. A large wave of energy came out of Zeva’s mouth and swooped across the ground, obliterating the last few soldiers left. Zeva pounded the ground with his arms, and let out a victorious roar, before turning his sights on Callach again. He jumped on the building, and made his way toward Callach.
Callach took off his cloak, revealing a black battle suit underneath, and threw it aside. “If you want to have a fight with me, so be it demon.”
Zeva’s tail jerked forward, and swooped across the building top to Callach, who jumped out of the way. As Callach descended to Zeva, his hand enlarged again, and he sent a fist to Zeva, which crushed both Zeva and most of the building to the ground. However, after a few moments, Callach felt himself being lifted in the air, and suddenly he was being spun around before being sent crashing into the ground.
His hand went back to normal size, and looked over to see something moving underground toward him at rapid speed. Before he could recover, Zeva burst out of the ground and pounced on Callach, pinning him on the ground with his arms and feet, his tail wrapping around his neck. Zeva brought his head down to Callach’s, hissing. Callach struggled to get his arm’s free, as Zeva began to open his mouth. In the nick of time, his arms broke free of Zeva’s grip and he pounded his fists together and at the same moment Zeva’s head jerked forward in a rapid movement, biting Callach’s face. By now this fatal move would render Callach dead, but when Zeva bit down on Callach, it was like he was biting down on solid rock.
Callach’s entire body had turned dark grey, and the ground beneath him trembled at his immense weight. He brought his arm up, and slammed his fist into Zeva’s face, knocking him yards away. He struggled to get his body up due to the supreme weight he bestowed on himself, and finally pounded his fists together again, turning his body back to normal. As Zeva was getting up, he enlarged his fist, and pierced his fingers into the ground, gripping it. Using his strength, he pushed himself forward, causing him to launch toward Zeva at a tremendous velocity.
He turned his fist back to normal, and sent a fist toward Zeva’s face, and at his speed it seemed impossible to dodge it. But Zeva managed to do so, and ducked at the last minute, his tail wrapped around Callach’s arm and threw him to the ground next to himself. Zeva stomped on both Callach’s arms, making sure he had a good grip on them this time. Callach was astonished. Zeva may be a monster, but he was learning. Callach could see the energy form in the back of Zeva’s throat, knowing an energy beam was coming.
Thinking fast, he stomped his feet on Zeva’s tail, and yanked Zeva off him, then slammed his palm at Zeva’s face, redirecting his head away, as well as the beam of energy that came out. The energy beam soared in the air, and crashed into the ceiling of the cave, blowing it up. He punched Zeva’s face repeatedly with his right fist, and finished it off with a strong last blow, knocking Zeva away. Callach took a second to look up to the sky, wondering where his dropship was at and what’s taking it so long, unaware that Zeva was charging toward him.
When he finally noticed, Zeva had hunched to the left, so that the spikes on his back faced forward, and impaled Callach. Zeva jerked around a bit to get Callach out of the spikes, and his tail wrapped around his leg. He slammed Callach on the ground from side to side repeatedly, then tossed Callach away.
Callach slammed to the ground and rolled a bit before halting. He gripped his wounds, and then grabbed his mask. “It has to come to this…I have to take the mask off.” Zeva slowly made his way to the wounded Callach, who was hesitating on whether to take the mask off or not, ready to make the final blow, when suddenly a loud whirring sound came from the sky.
A ship came down from the large hole in the ceiling, and slowly descended to the ground. Callach looked at Zeva, then the ship, and quickly enlarged his fist, and launched himself up to the ship. He landed on one of the wings, and entered through one of the doors.
The pilot, who looked similar to the soldiers, looked over at Callach, shocked. “Sir Callach…you-” “GO!” Callach shouted. He pulled out a remote from inside his battle suit, and pressed the button on it.
The pilot did as he was told, and the ship took off. Zeva roared at the ship, pounding the ground, unaware of the countdown from within the building complex. After a few seconds, the building exploded, the blast taking out the cave and everything in it. _________________________________________
The walls in the facility shook from the explosion nearby, and both Kazumi and Ni were wondering what the hell was going on out there. The battle turned into a game of cat and mouse, Kazumi being the mouse of course. He was hiding in a weapon’s storage room, sitting near a wall with his eyes closed. He made sure Ni couldn’t sense him, and then drifted off to sleep.
When Kazumi opened his eyes, there was nothing but darkness around him. The only thing other then him here, was a young hedgeneko standing across from him, who looked remarkably like Kazumi.
“This is a surprise. You know you’re a sitting duck?” the young hedgeneko said flatly.
“Nah…I have some time. I need to ask you something…” Kazumi said.
“Hm?”
“Are you me?”
“Didn’t we go through this already? I can’t give you answers…”
“If I don’t know the answer…that means you don’t know the answer, which means you are me.”
“You know instead of trying to figure this out in the wrong time, you should get out there and fight before you die….again.”
“I told you, we have time. If your not me, then you’d know how to defeat this woman. How do you kill something that cannot be killed?”
“You don’t.”
“Evil Minh couldn’t die, but she died. So it’s possible.”
“How do you know that for sure?”
“Ah hah! You aren’t me!”
“I never said she isn’t dead, nor did I say she is.”
“Can’t you help me out even a little bit?”
“You know there’s a lot of empty space here….”
“…Are you calling me dumb?”
“No, I’m not. Death isn’t the only way to end a battle.”
“…Why can’t you just be straightforward?”
“Because I like torturing you.”
“Oh hah hah.”
“You got company.”
Before Kazumi could respond, he woke up with a startle. He looked over at the door, and heard footsteps growing closer. He looked at his wound, which wasn’t as bad as before. He thought for a second, then looked at the door again. The doorknob twisted, and the door slammed open. Ni stood in front of the empty room, sneering, and moved on down the hallway. She went to the next room, and opened it up.
When she walked in, she felt the air around her felt strange. Her sense began to fail her, and she could only see darkness. She didn’t notice the formation of particles that was behind her, and would of never guessed what happened next. The particles burst and exploded, nearly blowing up the entire floor.
Ni emerged from the rubble, unscratched, chuckling. “Don’t you ever learn? You can try as much as you want, but you’ll never kill me!”
“Ya I know..” a voice said from within the cloud of smoke and dust. “That was just a distraction.”
Before she knew it, she felt a hand grip her head and was brought into darkness. She could tell she was no longer in the facility, but the identity of this new place was unknown to her. She could hear many voices, but her sense was failing her.
“Where…where am I…what is this?” The sound of a door opening made her jerk her head toward the direction of it, knowing Kazumi was standing right there.
“This…is my world. Welcome to my mind. Your powers don’t exist here, only your mind. Here you will be trapped forever, and will be tortured for all eternity…” Screams and moans were heard in the distance, as they came closer and closer to Ni. “What was that?!” she shouted, trying to use her senses. She then made a run for the door Kazumi was standing by
“That? Oh….use your imagination.” Kazumi giggled and grinned. "Bye." he waved, then closed the door on her. A different series of screams came from the other side of the door, screams of terror and agony that will continue for a long, long, time.
The young hedgeneko looked at Kazumi, then at the door. “Oh great…more company.
Kazumi chuckled and patted the young hedgeneko’s head. “Well look at it this way. Whenever I’m sad…”
He looked at the door.
“I’ll just listen to the screams.” _________________________________________

Chapter 8
My heart stopped but my tears won’t
Blank. Nothingness. Light. Was he dead? Surely he’d be in Hell right now. No, this was not Hell…this was nowhere. Was he awake? Asleep? The last thing he could remember was…
Him…Crysis…Death…
And then…he remembered it. The monster…that creature. He wasn’t totally oblivious. He wasn’t stupid, he knew it was himself. The power…that overwhelming power, there was no doubt he did it on purpose. He allowed himself to be taken over, he wanted to feel it. If he pushed himself even further….
He shuddered at the thought.
Wait…shudder? He looked down, and his saw his own two hands. He grabbed his arms, his body, his face. It felt all very real. Where was he?
“….Yo.” a voice said flatly.
Zeva looked up startled. In front of him was a young man, looking at him with a bored look in his face. He had black messy neck-length hair; the bangs hanging just about his eyes. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt, which had a hood, that hugged his body, revealing his slim physique. His hands were in the pockets of his dark blue tight jeans, that covered a bit of his black sneakers.
He let out a bored yawn. “Not much to see in here, huh?”
Zeva just glared at the man, beyond the point of disbelief. “Minh…”
The man let out a half-smile, as if in recognition to this name. “Hm?”
“Your dead.”
Minh scoffed. “Oh hey yea, thanks for reminding me.”
Zeva growled. “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be hiding like the coward you are?”
Minh raised an eyebrow. “What’s with the hostility?”
Zeva clenched his fist, and pointed a finger at Minh. “You! You could of prevented all this…you could of saved Crysis! You could of saved millions of people from dieing! But all you did was sit back and cower…”
Minh sighed. “Zeva….I think it’s time that we talked.”
“There is nothing to talk about. You are just a lazy selfish coward. Your no better then Evil Minh.”
“Yes Zeva…we do need to talk. But I’ll need to ask for you to calm down..”
Zeva continued to glare at Minh, but was ready to listen.
“The things I do…are never without reason. The day that I died…the day that Evil Minh killed me…it brought me to believe that she was superior to me. That I was the weaker of the two. I was ashamed to go back……I was afraid. I’ve felt like…I couldn’t stop her anymore. But then I soon realized that if I was evil…I’d do that too, I’d think that too. And I realized that we actually are alike. Evil Minh wanted nothing more then to torment me, and hated losing more then anything in the world. To beat Evil Minh…I needed to think like her…to put myself in her shoes. You cannot beat her as the hero…you must beat her as the villain. I know I’ve…done many things I’m not proud of. I could of prevented millions of deaths and tragedies, but in war there will always be casualties.”
“Casualties? So that was what Crysis was? A victim to this war? An innocent bystander?!”
Minh shook his head.
“No, Crysis was part of this war too. Drafted in fact, by me. I forced him to participate, and I forced the responsibilities of my powers onto him. You see, I approached him in Hell one day, and I transferred my powers and sword to him. I could not defeat Evil Minh while dead, so I needed a person to take in my powers. Of course there was a side-affect to this, and resulted in the sword to be split apart.”
“Then you…you were the reason Evil Minh got freed! If you never gave him that sword, Evi-”
“No, Zeva, it was you.”
Zeva reared back, shocked. “Me? What are you spouting about? I-”
“It was a coincidence that the day that Crysis finished completing the sword, you made your move. I wasn’t aware of your plans to take over the world, and so it interfered with my plans. I had originally planned for him to find the sword Evil Minh left behind and finish what I could not do. But of course you had to step in and ruin everything. I especially didn’t plan on you actually carrying Evil Minh’s sword.”
Zeva was speechless.
“So when Evil Minh was freed, I was powerless do anything. Crysis had all my powers, so it had to be up to you guys. But of course everything turned up ok in the end.”
“Turned up ok? I don’t recall you finishing off Evil Minh when the Lost Spirit World was collapsing, and I don’t recall you helping us when the Gargounfreaks came and attacked Earth. ”
Minh let out a small smile. “Ah, I had a feeling that you were wondering about that. I left Evil Minh there in purpose. You see…if the situation were to be switched around, I knew Evil Minh would love to see me suffer. She would of course leave me in the Lost Spirit World to suffer for eternity. Like I said, to beat Evil Minh, you need to become Evil Minh.”
Zeva still was speechless, embarrassed and ashamed of what he had done in the past.
“Well what’s done is done, you don’t need to worry about Evil Minh for now. As for the Gargounans….I was also unaware of that. I’m not God you know…I don’t see everything. I’m only allowed a limited time in Earth.”
“And to think that one mistake caused all this.” Zeva mused.
Minh frowned. “Are you trying to make me feel even worse?”
Zeva shook his head. “No…I’m just still trying to sink this all in.”
Minh paused for a second, waiting for a few minutes while Zeva got caught up.
“There’s also something else I wanted to tell you…”
“What is that?”
“From now on, you need to learn self-control.”
“Self-control? What are you saying?”
“You, Zeva, are very unlike your ancestors. You have something they don’t, intelligence. Every time you lose control, your instinct takes control and you revert to your shadow demon forms. The power may feel great and superior, but you lose yourself each time you rely on it. If you continue to let this power eat you up, you will lose yourself forever and return to the ways of your ancestors.”
Zeva said nothing. He acknowledged Minh’s words, but could not create any response towards them.
Minh glanced up for a second, then looked back at Zeva. “My time here is almost over. If you want to prevent even more deaths, then I suggest you listen up.”
Zeva nodded.
“Five days from now, an entire army of Gargounans will amass from space. Their fleet has enough firepower to wipe out our entire galaxy in just a few days. The army that you had destroyed on Earth were just scouts, and one was able to escape.”
“How do I defeat an entire army?!”
“I know you will think of something, Zeva. Besides, you don’t have to do it alone. My time is coming to end now…and so is yours.”
Zeva just watched as Minh faded away, and everything went black. He felt the cold air around him, and he also felt a bed underneath him. Slowly he opened his eyes, blinking several times to take in all the light. He looked around to take in his surroundings, and saw that he was in some sort of large tent, with numerous medical equipment to the left of him. To the right of him, he saw a certain hedgeneko sitting on a chair, reading a magazine.
“Wh-….where am I?” Zeva said in a hoarse voice.
Kazumi looked up from his magazine, and gasped. “Zeva!” He got up from his chair and immediately hugged Zeva.
“Ow!” Zeva exclaimed, still sore.
“Oh, sorry.” Kazumi said, getting off. “I was worried that you would never wake up!”
Zeva sat up, rubbing his head. “How long was I asleep? And…where the hell am I?”
“Just a few weeks…and your in one of the safe camps G.U.N put up.”
Zeva clenched his bed sheets tightly. “So…it’s still not over yet…”
Kazumi shook his head. “No…those things attacked us for many days. We were almost screwed when suddenly, they just…stopped.”
Zeva looked up at Kazumi. “Stopped?”
“Yea…they just stopped attacking. We never saw another one since.”
Zeva stared at his bed sheets. ‘They’re waiting…waiting for orders.’ Zeva thought. He threw his bed sheets aside, and got up.
“What are you doing?! Your still sore!”
Zeva made his way out of the tent, ignoring the pain in his body. “I have to go. I have to get out of here.”
Kazumi followed Zeva, and stood in front of him. “Don’t try and get yourself killed again, Zeva. We’re safe here.”
“No…you don’t understand.”
“I understand-”
“YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!” Zeva shouted, earning a silence from the other boy. “When I…was asleep…I had a talk with Minh.”
Kazumi looked surprised for a second, but remained silent.
“After we had talked for a little bit, he gave me a warning. That in five days, an entire fleet of Gargounans will come and destroy us all. If we stay here, we’re just sitting ducks.” Zeva said, walking past Kazumi.
Kazumi turned around, and stared at Zeva. “So what’s your plan?”
Zeva stopped, silent for a few minutes. “I……I don’t know…”
“…Then I’m coming with you.” Kazumi said, walking toward Zeva.
Zeva turned halfway around. “No. Your staying here. You’ll be safe-”
Kazumi gave Zeva a dark look. “I can fend for myself. I am coming with you.”
Zeva stared at Kazumi, and once he realized he couldn’t change his mind, he nodded and walked towards the gate with him.
One of the G.U.N soldiers standing near the wall’s gate looked at the two, and ordered them to stop. “Where are you two going?”
“Out.” Zeva said flatly. “Return to your tent, it’s not safe out there.”
Zeva and Kazumi continued to walk toward the gate, until the G.U.N soldier stepped in front of them.
“You are not allowed to go out here, it’s-” Before he can finish, Zeva grabbed the soldier and pulled out his pistol, pointing it at his head. The other G.U.N soldiers pointed their guns at Zeva.
“Open the gate, or I will blow his brains all over the ground.”
The G.U.N soldiers looked over at the one whom Zeva held hostage, and he nodded for them to open the gates. They did as they were told, and Zeva threw the G.U.N soldier on the ground, tossing the gun away.
The G.U.N soldier got up, and shouted as the two walked out of the gate. “We’re not going to let you in if you leave!”
“Don’t worry, we’re not coming back.” Zeva said as he walked away.
And the gates closed. _________________________________________
The door’s swung open and Callach walked into the dark room, the door closing behind him. Five pairs of eyes stared at him from within the darkness, waiting for Callach to take his seat alongside of them. They looked over at the empty seat next to Callach, and stared at him.
“Where is Ni’hume?” one of the figure’s in the dark ask.
“She didn’t come back.”
“That’s odd, where is she?” a different one asked.
“She knew she was suppose to meet up with me at the command post, and she is hardly ever late. All I can conclude from this is….she’s been incapacitated.”
“By an earthling? Blasphemy!” the first figure said.
“Hehehehehe! Callach I heard you got beaten pretty badly by an earthling! How embarrassing heheheheheh!” a loud obnoxious voice said from one of the figures.
Callach turned his head toward the figure, most likely glaring at it from behind his mask. “This was no ordinary earthling…he had an extraordinary power. I don‘t know if there are more like him out there, but if there are we can be in trouble”
“It doesn’t matter now, we’ve sent the finest on the job.” the first figure said.
“Who?” Callach asked.
“A bounty hunter. He is quite remarkable at doing his job. He will take care of these earthlings for you.” the second figure said.
“Did the king find out about this?” Callach asked.
The first figure shook his head. “No, but it was quite hard sneaking him under the king’s nose. Surely if he found out our entire plan and us would be in deep trouble.”
“This attack on that galaxy would be a great opportunity for us…” the fifth figure spoke up, its voice was soft and calm.
“Yes it is.” The second figure said, turning its head toward Callach. “Callach, the king still has his trust to you. But he is starting to doubt your ability to handle a mission correctly.. Do not mess up anymore.”
Callach nodded. “I underestimated my opponent. It will not happen again.”
The first figure got up. “We must go, if we stay out of our posts for any longer they will be suspicious of us. Meeting adjourned.” The rest of the figures got up, and walked out of the room.
“Attention all personals, prepare to jump to hyperspace.” A voice said from the intercom.
Outside, hundreds of battleships flashed, and jolted into hyperspace, all going to one direction….
…Earth. _________________________________________
